Breaking the cycle of homelessness

25th May 2020

Breaking the cycle of homelessness is difficult, but it’s not impossible.

We know people need a full belly and warm clothes. That’s why we provide meals and run clothing collections.

We know people need a leg up with everyday stresses. That’s why we help with EPA vouchers.

We know people need access to affordable accommodation. That’s why we are working with different levels of government to find a way to provide this in Coffs Harbour.

But we also know people need more. To truly break the cycle, people need help breaking through barriers, accessing individualised services like self-help programs and getting counseling and psychological support.

Once we understand the root of trauma and what’s going on inside, we can work out the best way forward. People can start to take control and build their capacity. Then, take part in work-readiness programs and get back on their feet.

So we do just that. We offer free counseling and psychological services to all our clients. They also have access to classes like parenting, anger management and cooking on a budget. When they’re ready, we’ll help them get back in the workforce. The best part of this system is that a whole team of people have got their back.

We’ve seen thousands of people turn their lives around in this way. From recovering addicts to people going through trauma, we have helped. So if you or someone you know could use a helping hand, give us a call. You don’t need to do it alone.
